Re: Drive to Excellence Project
We are pleased to announce that the university has signed an agreement with SAP Arabia to implement a resource planning system. SAP is the world's largest inter-enterprise software company and the world's third-largest independent software supplier overall. The first phase of this project will include the Human Resources and Financial processes. The system is based on best practices processes that have been developed by SAP after years of input from leading organizations. These practices have improved process flexibility and innovation, as well as efficiency.
The strategic objectives of this project include:
This project is not just an IT project. It is a transformation project that will affect every employee and, for this reason, we are forming a Working Group with representation from across the university to assist in this change management. This Working Group will be responsible for communicating expectations and needs, recommending direction and communicating changes to colleagues. We are asking each area head to nominate one or two representatives that have a reasonable knowledge of the processes within their respective area to serve on this Working Group.
The project will be managed by a steering committee that includes the VP for Planning & Administration Paul Donoghue, the VP for Finance Andrew Snaith, and the AVP for Computing Sami Akabawi. The steering committee has appointed Mohammed El Saidy, the University’s Controller, as the Project Director. Mr. El Saidy, as part of his role as the Project Director, will also act as the Chair of this Working Group and nominations to the Group should be communicated directly to him by email to email@example.com.
We look forward to launching this very important and exciting initiative and look forward to your advice, counsel and support.
